To improve the security of Urdaneta City University, an electronic ID system was introduced to the students and is ready to be accessed this semester.
According to Engr. Richard Arellaga, Laboratory Custodian of the College of Engineering and Architecture, this will be a solution to control the people who are passing the gate and avoid unauthorized entry of outsiders.
This will also be a help to the Guidance Office to monitor the number of students who are attending the school.
“Mas maganda ‘yong system ngayon kasi mas madali ng makapasok ang mga estudyante (The system is much better now because we can easily enter the university),” said Ron Mark Grande, BSA-IV.
“Mas maganda ngayon,” stated Benjie Justo, a company guard. “Hindi naman sa direderetso kasi kapag papasok sila. Magagamit nila yung ID nila… Makikita mo kaagad kung sino yung lalabas sa monitor kung sa kanya yun o hindi (The system is better now. They [the students] will not head straight inside the university. They will use their ID, and you can already see on the monitor if they really are the same person),” he said.
The funds used to finance the system came from last year’s Mirage and Mr. and Ms. UCU proceeds.#
