UCU Communication students stand out at election coverage

Communication students from the Urdaneta City University served as volunteer reporters at Bombo Radyo Dagupan last May 9-10 during the 2016 election coverage.

Four students qualified to participate in the coverage: Mae Calizo, Noel Razo, Giselle Lomibao, Candies Miclat. They were joined by Karen Cacay and Jan Earvin Viernes, Communication alumni of the university.

Bombo Radyo, a widely known AM radio station in the Philippines, called for volunteer reporters to cover the national election in the different regions. Many students from different universities actively participated, among them was the Urdaneta City University.

“This was an opportunity to contribute to the election process. It was a wonderful feeling knowing people were updated of what was really happening in the regions, and that you served as their voice every time you went on air,” explained Karen Cacay when asked about her experience during the coverage.
