Alak Pinas captures King’s Cup ML tournament tilt

Alak Pinas 2.0 dominated the King’s Cup Mobile Legends Tournament 2022 after sweeping the Mindset Ba Mindset team with a score of 3-0 in a best-of-five face-off during the finals on March 31, 2022.

In the first round of the finals, Alak Pinas aced the team Mindset Ba Mindset by a 13-point margin (25-13). The winning team continued to reign supreme in the second round after bearing a nine-point margin (17-8) in favor of the opponent team.

At the beginning of the third round,  Mindset Ba Mindset was leading the game but Alak Pinas sealed the championship title during the last minute of the match. The former secured second place in the tournament, while the CPA in Transit emerged as the third placer.

The King’s Cup ML Tournament was divided into different elimination rounds that determined which team would advance and take part in the next stage of the competition. Four teams entered the semi-finals round including Alak Pinas, Mindset Ba Mindset, CPA in Transit, and Ionic Bond. 

 

Aside from the major awards, more special awards were given to the most performing players of the tournament. John Lee Laguna was hailed as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament and the Best Cold-Laner. Ernie Parangat was the Best Jungler and the MVP of the finals. 

 

Further, Iverson Marquez notched the Best Roamer Award. Kieran Mallari emerged as the Mid-Laner while Nathaniel Bendillo was awarded Best Experience Laner. 

 

The tournament was part of the 56th founding anniversary celebration organized by UCU under the supervision of Prof. Leonard M. Caluag and  sponsored by Talk ‘n Text.
