The newest expansion, known as Julio E. Parayno, Sr. Building, was made in honor of the late city vice mayor and father of Mayor Parayno III.

Parayno led the groundbreaking ceremony of the building on January 24, 2020.

He extended his gratitude to the administration of Atty. Dar A. Diga for establishing the building after his father’s name.

“The honor that has been accorded by the university, the will that you have entrusted to us Almighty God, to name this building under the name of my father, and truly, thank you so much university family, UCU family,” said the incumbent mayor.

City Vice Mayor Jimmy D. Parayno reminisced how the former vice mayor used his voice during his time.

“Alam niyo po noong bata pa si Sir Rammy, that was maybe, 14 years old or 13 years old, 16 years old, kandidato na ang aking tiyuhin, Tito Julie, ang ganda niya magsalita. Napaka-energetic, napaka-diplomasya kung magsalita, katulad din ng ating butihing mayor,” remarked VM Jimmy.

The four-story concrete structure with an area of 1440 sqm will soon cater to its students once face-to-face classes get back in the institution.

It comprises 12 rooms, and it could occupy 40 students per room. Restrooms are located at the west wing, where men and women cubicles are situated alternately per floor. A panelboard and a breaker are installed per room, making it suitable for air conditioning. The building also has a complete fire detection and alarm system and a dry standpipe.

The office of the Vice President for Administrative Affairs and two engineering and architecture laboratories are situated on the first floor. A faculty room and two classrooms can be found on the second floor. Also, the whole third floor is designated as computer laboratories while the fourth floor is additional classrooms for students.
