Urdaneta City University made an advanced Mother's Day celebration on Friday, May 12, 2023, to pay tribute to the immeasurable love and devotion of mothers around the world.
The Center for Student Leadership and Development (CSLD), in partnership with BPI Urdaneta, organized an online talk show titled “Inay, Bida ka!” in the Audio-visual Room featuring the story of Ms. Tiffany Joy Barrientos, a UCU student and a mother of two.
In one of the discussions with Dr. Nhorly Domenden, talk show host, Barrientos shared her struggle and her journey as a mother. “Ako’y nadisgrasya, sabi nga nila. Pero hindi ko po siya pinagsisisihan na na-conceive ako nang mas maaga dahil naging blessing s’ya sa akin,” she said.
“ ‘Yung pagiging ina ko nang maaga ay nagturo sa aking maging mature at independent kahit sa murang edad,” she further exclaimed sharing her realizations that being a mother has changed her life entirely.
Meanwhile, the Student Council and the Events Management Office showed a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to the mothers in the university by offering them flowers. Further, the Urdaneta City University Personnel Association (UCUPA) put up a free ice cream stall for all employees as a form of Mother’s Day treat.
