The CPD Council for Professional Teachers awarded Urdaneta City University (UCU) the certificate of accreditation for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as CPD Provider, after completing the requirements set by the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. 10912, or the CPD Act of 2016 on June 18, 2021, valid for three years.

“As a university that provides continuing professional development programs, quality support and guidance for our professional teachers, in terms of meeting the minimum CPD requirements for license renewal, and of their professional development through advance training, will be guaranteed,” said Dr. Easter B. Belandres, Director of the Center for Training and Professional Development (CTPD), as she explained how this recognition would benefit the university.

Belandres further elaborated that this achievement could create opportunities for other schools and universities, as UCU offers its CPD programs. Such linkages may serve as an avenue for the university to reach out to DepEd teachers and other professional teachers, strengthening the credibility and stability of UCU in the field of advanced studies.

The university now opens its doors to accept and collaborate with other institutions in conducting training, seminars, and workshops to hone the skills and knowledge of different individuals in the community.
