In a grand spectacle sparking the holiday cheer, Urdaneta City University marked the Christmas season with its annual Lighting Ceremony last November 30 at the University Forest.
“This lighting ceremony will serve as our light not only tonight but throughout the year,” expressed Dr. Josephine S. Lambinicio, Vice-President of Academic Affairs.
The facade in front of the Administrative Building was adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations while the Forest turned to a Christmas Tunnel, as the highlight of the ceremony.
The tradition of Yuletide season in the University begins with its much-awaited lighting before the administrators, employees, and students.
Chief Operating Officer Atty. Dar A. Diga emphasized the importance of coming together to celebrate the holiday season, and sharing the love, even in simple ways.
“I hope we can appreciate this simple means of telling everyone that it’s time to share love,” he remarked.
Student-performers of UCU Orata Chamber Singers and Dance Troupe entertained the crowd in a Christmas musical performance.
The UCU Student Council, together with the Center for Student Leadership and Development organized the event.
