The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) marked its Ring Hop and turnover ceremony at the Urdaneta City Cultural and Sports Center on July 18, 2023, signifying the passing of responsibility from this year's graduating class to the incoming senior class of CCJE.
The Ring Hop Ceremony is a significant milestone in the academic journey of criminology students. Rooted in tradition and symbolism, the event not only recognizes the achievements of the senior class but also prepares the junior class for their upcoming roles as the new leaders of the college.
Kian Espinoza, OJT and Royal Guard Commander of Class Siglat ‘23, officially handed the sword of leadership to Othrey Dwane Orden as the incoming Commander of the Class Bagani ‘24.
The ceremony commenced with the entrance of colors, resonating the spirit of unity among the dignitaries, professors, students, and proud family members. Meanwhile, the much-anticipated moment arrived when each graduating student with their guardian was called on stage to receive their academic ring.
The rings, exquisitely designed with the college's emblem and class name, served as a constant reminder of their commitment to the pursuit of truth and fairness in their future endeavors.
P2LT Jhun Lyndon C. Zamora, UCU CCJE alumnus of Batch Maghimogon ‘19, manned as the guest speaker who extended his message to the graduating class of 2023.
“As you graduate, you have to face many challenges and encounter many obstacles in your life. But don’t let these challenges and obstacles ruin your ambition. Instead, use this as your motivation to pursue your dreams. Give your best in everything you do and always look back where you started,” he said.
As the ceremony reached its peak, Prof. Joseph Miranda, college dean, delivered a heartfelt address, expressing his admiration for the students' perseverance and encouraging them to uphold the principles of justice, integrity, and compassion as they embarked on their professional journey.
“To the CCJE Class of 2023, remember that great knowledge comes with great responsibility. As you embark on your professional journey, may you all be reminded of the importance of truth, justice, and the relentless pursuit of a safer world,” he exclaimed.
