History

With the resounding success of its educational program, its proven and distinctive competence, and excellence in the field of education, the Urdaneta City University decided to open another avenue in advance studies for the professional development of leaders, educational managers, researchers, administrators, and professional teachers. Thus, the Graduate School (now Institute of Graduate and Advanced Studies) came to its being.

The then Graduate School started to offer a Master of Arts in Education Major in Educational Management in 1995-1996. Five part-time professors guided 19 students on the 1st Semester from Pangasinan State University-Bayambang Campus and some principals nearby schools. The number of students grew to 68 during the 2nd semester and continues up to the present. In the year 2000, the Master of Arts in Nursing program has been offered, preparing professional nurses for leadership and management roles in nursing practice, education, and research.

In 2006, GS expanded its opportunities for post-graduate studies by offering programs Doctor of Education Major in Educational Management, Master of Arts in Education Major in Early Childhood, and Master in Business Administration, respectively. As of this writing, the two post-graduate degree programs have been added, including Master of Arts in Special Education and Master in Public Administration.
