The Center for Training and Professional Development carried out a whole-day webinar on professional development with the theme “Exigency in the Service: Strengthening Public Service and Commitment” held on June 2, 2021.
The seminar focused on honing committed civil servants of UCU to elevate their perspective towards public service particularly during the work-from-home (WFH) setup brought by the pandemic.
The first half of the event was a series of lecture-discussion covering the topics on public service and commitment, labor policies on government work hours and other related subjects, and embracing UCU’s digital transformation.
The talks were delivered by officials of the University, namely Dr. Elisa Cristobal, the VP for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Joey H. Barroga, the Head of HCMO, and Prof. Jofil Z. Lomboy, the University Registrar.
Meanwhile, the afternoon session was concluded with a hands-on digital workshop facilitated by Prof. Lomboy to train our University personnel in addressing students’ concerns and orient them in the technological changes of UCU websystems.
The webinar-workshop was attended by the different college and department heads and staff. It is among the initiatives of the UCU Administration and Urdaneta Mayor Julio "Rammy" F. Parayno III, chair of UCU'S Board of Regents, to prepare all UCU personnel for upcoming University programs and endeavors amidst the health crisis.
