The event convened university officials, DSWD representatives, and program beneficiaries, aiming to uplift the lives of qualified students and alumni through short-term employment opportunities.
The orientation began with welcoming remarks from Monette S. Locquiao, MAEd, who highlighted the university’s strong commitment to community engagement. Key university leaders then shared inspirational messages: Atty. Michael Henry C. Lambinicio, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized that, “Your potential is very significant to this program.”
Ms. Reysa Tigas, DSWD Focal Person and Social Welfare Officer III of KALAHI-CIDSS, provided a thorough overview of the Cash-for-Work Program explaining, “We pay for the work you do in exchange for cash, providing you with financial assistance and experience over a short period of time, let us consider yourselves as young professionals.” Orientation materials, including booklets and beneficiary profile forms, were then distributed.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Sonny Soriano, the Director of External Affairs and Linkages (EAL), reaffirming UCU’s commitment to building sustainable community partnerships.
