Ms. Emarvielyn Dimamay Fernandez, 25 years old from Brgy. Nancalobasaan, paid a courtesy call to Atty. Dar A. Diga, Acting University President.
"I joined Miss Philippines Earth to showcase the natural beauty of Urdaneta City.... I have a goal... (which is) to let us all become aware of what’s happening on earth and to spread positivity to become a solution for a better earth to live in," Fernandez stated.
A graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, Fernandez articulated her belief that "tourism is the greatest weapon to save Mother Earth. To live in a zero hunger, zero waste lifestyle."
Her statement echoes the environmental advocacies of the City of Urdaneta headed by its mayor, Hon. Julio "Rammy" F. Parayno III, Chair of the UCU Board of Regents.
Meanwhile, Atty. Diga expressed the full support of the University in Fernandez's bid for the Miss Earth Philippines title.
Both UCU and the City of Urdaneta have conveyed their confidence in Fernandez who will represent the city in the competition.
