The newly-elected officials of the University Student Council under the slate of Jediah Mae Usana, SC president, inherited the key of responsibility from her predecessor Nicolle Anne Dayrit during the Oath-Taking Ceremony on December 12, 2021, at the University Gymnasium.
During the acceptance speech, Usana said that 'as a servant leader, the goal is to make a difference by setting a good example to the studentry and leading through actions.'
She also promised to continue the legacy of service she did as the last year's vice president and be a better servant as the new president of SC.
Meanwhile, Dayrit described her leadership term as one of the 'most challenging periods' of the council.
"It was a roller coaster ride, from the disappointing downs of this pandemic to the fulfilling ups of smiles and appreciation we received. Being the student council president made me braver and wiser fighter," she remarked.
Nicoli Jan Louie Sison, Board Member of Pangasinan 5th District, gave his advice as the inducting officer of this year's oath-taking ceremony.
“Sa mga maitatalaga ngayong hapon na ito bilang student council officers, ang masasabi ko lang ay huwag ninyong masyadong puwersahin. Maraming mga bagay na hindi na-achieve dahil we are forcing things to happen. You just need to enjoy your stint as a leader. You have to communicate well to your fellow students,” the Sison pointed out.
Sison inducted Usana and other officers, including the rest of executive positions and college representatives. He also led the remote induction via zoom for the officers of different campus organizations in the university.
Acting University President Atty. Dar A. Diga, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Noel L. Guevara, Director of Center for Student Leadership and Development Dr. Nhorly U. Domenden, and SC Adviser Jeffrey Caoile awarded the certificate of recognition to the outgoing and incoming SC officials.
The CSLD commended the SC Commission on Elections and the Management and Information System (MIS) for the assistance and support they rendered in the successful conduct of SC Elections 2021.
