The Urdaneta City University community flocked together for the Sports Fest 2022 kick-off at the University Gymnasium on December 15.
Different competing teams from various academic and administrative units marched in the entire university bearing the flag and banner of their colleges and departments during the grand parade.
Meanwhile, the torch run and the lighting of the sports cauldron officially commenced the event following the declaration of Sports Fest opening led by the Chief Operating Officer Atty. Dar A. Diga.
Competing teams participated in different sports stunts including the oath to amateurism and sportsmanship, banner racing, and releasing of balloons. They also performed in various competitions such as cheers and yell, dance sports, and modern hip-hop.
The College of Teacher Education (CTE) was hailed champion in the cheers and yell competition. While the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management notched the championship titles for Dance Sports and Modern Hip-hop, respectively.
The said event was anchored on the theme “Cultivating Change through Sports,” which aimed at providing sustainable programs and opportunities for UCUians in rebuilding their talents and skills.
