With the aim to provide tools for managing workplace stress while promoting gender equity as part of a comprehensive approach to leadership, Urdaneta City University conducted a seminar tailored for college deans and heads of offices with the title, "Navigating Stress and Gender Equity for Holistic Development" on September 3, 2024 held at the University Cafeteria.
Dr. Engelbert C. Pasag, Vice-President for Internationalization at Panpacific University of Northern Philippines (PUNP), led the first session on "Stress Management in the Workplace." He discussed practical strategies to help university leaders manage stress effectively and create a more balanced work environment.
Dr. Pasag highlighted the role of self-care, mindfulness, and supportive practices in reducing stress, essential for maintaining productivity and morale among academic staff.
The seminar continued with a presentation by Ms. Maria Teresa V. Calpito, who spoke on "Navigating Stress and Promoting Gender Equity for Holistic Development." She explored how gender equity initiatives can improve workplace dynamics and support holistic development across the institution.
Calpito’s talk emphasized the importance of creating equitable opportunities and reducing gender-based barriers in academia, offering insights into policies and practices that promote a more inclusive and balanced work environment for everyone.
