UCU partners with KALINGA partylist, provides free healthcare services to faculty, staff, students

Urdaneta City University, as initiated by the Center for External Affairs and Linkages, hosted a Grand Medical Mission entitled, “KALINGA: Kalusugan at Alaga, Lunas at Inisyatibo para sa Nagsasariling Ginhawa ng ating Komunidad,” in partnership with and sponsored by the KALINGA Partylist, headed by Hon. Irene Gay F. Saulog on October 22, 2024 held at the University Gymnasium. 

 

The endeavor aimed to provide essential healthcare services to UCU’s faculty, staff, and students such as medical services (general check-up with free medicine for common ailments), dental services (check-up, tooth extraction, oral hygiene education), optical services (eye examination with free reading glasses), consultation services, mobile clinic services (laboratory tests and diagnostic), wellness services (haircut, reflexology and massage), and legal services and consultations all for free. The free services were also extended to the families and loved ones of UCU employees. 

 

Hon. Julio “Rammy” F. Parayno III, the City Mayor of Urdaneta, together with the UCU Administration represented by the Chief Operating Officer, Atty. Dar A. Diga was present in the program, showing full-force support to the UCUian community.

 

KALINGA Partylist represents the urban poor and the education sector. Its programs aim to provide Filipino families equal opportunities for health services, education, housing, and livelihood. Among its various programs are the Programang Kalinga sa Kabuhayan for workers and medical missions to aid Filipinos in provinces and cities nationwide.

 

This initiative reflects UCU's continuous efforts to provide not only quality education but also accessible healthcare for its academic community, further strengthening ties with local organizations dedicated to public service.
