Urdaneta City University, in an endeavor to empower academic personnel with essential financial knowledge, a seminar on financial literacy with basic financial planning was conducted by the experts of AIA Philippines or the Philippine American Life and General Insurance Company (Philam Life), as spearheaded by the Center for Training and Professional Development, on July 31, 2023 at the UCU Cafeteria.
Mostly attended by the different college deans and unit heads of the University, the seminar aims to impart smart financial decisions, as well as tips on successful financial management in a post-pandemic economic and academic conditions, which are beneficial not only for work-related functions, but also in day-to-day life.
Recognizing the pressing need of the employees for such learning, Ms. Myrna Tiburcio, the Sales Head of AIA Philippines emphasized the importance and future value of having a life insurance plan, and to start it as early as today. As Engr. Mario De Guzman, the PDGA Agency Manager – Pangasinan and one of the lecturers pointed out, “You should be aware of your human economic value: cover yourself.”
Our academic personnel are the backbone of our institution. By empowering them toward financial literacy, we are also ultimately impacting the lives of the students in their care.
