Urdaneta City University, in coordination with the Center for Training and Professional Development (CTPD), conducted a two-day webinar-workshop on “Continuous Strengthening of Flexible Learning” last March 8 - 9.
Topics such as Flexible Learning proper by Prof. Rhea M. Agibuay, OBTL Preparation and Assessment by Dr. Ryan Jayson V. Delos Reyes, and Test Development by Prof. Rolando D. De Guzman have been discussed, among others, in the said trainings. The target participants were tasked to present outputs after each discussion, and each presentation session was followed by an active participation from the group.
It has been highlighted from the lectures how flexible learning works, following principles, modes, and designs, that can be practiced by various types of educators, for various types of learners.
UCU piloted its first set of training on flexible learning in 2020 as a response to the challenges and restrictions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. With the aim to further improve what the university has started, in hope to better cater its students, clients, and academic partners, the continuation of flexible learning workshops was initiated.
The second series of the training is scheduled on April 7 - 8, 2022. It will focus on using interactive softwares and applications to make discussions and assessments be convenient to both students and instructors.
