Virtual faculty training kicks off in UCU

In its continuous pursuit of quality distance education, Urdaneta City University held a three-day virtual training for faculty members which started on September 27 and concluded on September 29, 2021.

The Center for Training and Professional Development spearheads the webinar entitled "UCU iKonek Virtual Training and Workshop for Faculty Members,"  in cooperation with the Management and Information System and other administrative offices in the University.

The said training provided participants a comprehensive discussion on different areas of flexible learning such as OBE orientation, designing flexible learning, effective visual presentation, digital skills, and others. Discussions on the said topics helped faculty members craft learning materials and other University documents by following the prescribed institutional standards and formats.

One of the highlights of the training was the faculty orientation on the use of the university Learning Management System called "iKonek." The said orientation was led by the MIS Data Controllers, Mr. Richard and Mr. Warren Novio who discussed the important points to guide faculty members navigate and maximize the use of LMS and other online resources.

Further, the said virtual training targeted to gear up faculty members with technological skills and pedagogical grounding amid the pandemic and address the issues of online education.
