UCU conducts seminar-workshop on innovative mathematical applications and digital tools

Urdaneta City University conducted a seminar-workshop on “Innovative Mathematical Applications and Digital Tools” for mathematics majors, educators, coordinators, and researchers on November 27, 2024 held at the University Cafeteria. 

 

Aimed at empowering participants with cutting-edge approaches to mathematics education, the seminar-workshop featured dynamic presentations by esteemed experts in the field, highlighting two topics:

 

1.    “Desmos: A Dynamic Mathematics Tool for Students and Teachers” discussed by Prof. Jerico B. Bacani, Dr.rer.nat., from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of the Philippines - Baguio. 

 

Prof. Bacani introduced the versatile features of Desmos, an interactive platform that transforms the teaching and learning of mathematics through dynamic graphing and visualization.

 

2.    “Mathematical Modelling with Digital Tools” discussed by Prof. Joel M. Addawe, also from the University of the Philippines - Baguio. 

 

Prof. Addawe highlighted the practical applications of mathematical modeling, showcasing how digital tools can simplify complex problem-solving processes and encourage innovative thinking.

 

The event reaffirmed UCU’s commitment to advancing educational excellence by equipping stakeholders with innovative strategies to meet the demands of modern education.
