UCU crowns Mister and Miss World Teachers’ Day 2025

Urdaneta City University marked World Teachers’ Day with the staging of Mister and Miss World Teachers’ Day 2025 on October 6, 2025 at the University Gymnasium, bringing together faculty representatives from the university’s colleges.

 

Miss World Teachers’ Day 2025 was awarded to Candidate No. 3, Michelle Gomez of the College of Teacher Education (CTE). Mister World Teachers’ Day 2025 went to Candidate No. 4, Romuelle Barbado of the College of Pharmacy (COP).

 

First Runners-up were Candidate No. 1, Jessa Pagad (CCJE) and Candidate No. 6, Riomel Bermundo (CTE). While Second Runners-up were Candidate No. 5, Arlyn Aquino (CITE) and Candidate No. 3, Erwin Jay Saure (CBMA).

Addressing environmental stewardship, crowned Miss WTD 2025 Michelle Gomez, stressed that teachers shape habits through instruction and partnerships:

 

“As educators, we teach that the environment is where we learn. By partnering with institutions and communities, we turn challenges into chances and learners into leaders.”

 

On Gender and Development, crowned Mister WTD 2025 Romuelle Barbado, emphasized inclusion backed by faculty capacity-building:

 

“Students should be free to express themselves. To advance GAD, teachers must be knowledgeable, skilled, and socially aware—supported with resources, research, and further studies—because the quality of education defines the nation’s potential.”

 

The pageant, supported by the university’s colleges and their faculty candidates, highlighted camaraderie,and creative presentation as part of UCU’s World Teachers’ Day 2025 celebration.
