UCU-GAD conducts seminar on effective, responsive communication

Urdaneta City University, with the aim to advocate gender-inclusive communication within its administrative offices and departments, as initiated by the Gender and Development unit, conducted a seminar on "Building a Culture of Effective and Responsive Communication" on June 21, 2024, at the University Cafeteria.

The seminar addressed key elements of effective communication, including active listening, clarity in message delivery, and the importance of feedback. It emphasized the role of responsive communication in building trust and understanding within the academic community, to cater more efficiently with its students, clients, and stakeholders.

Participants engaged in an interactive question and answer portion, and shared their first-hand experiences that both inspired and taught other co-participants. The speakers in return, shared strategies to improve their communication skills in both academic and social contexts, highlighting the significance of adapting communication styles to different audiences and situations, ensuring messages are received and understood as intended.

This endeavor is part of the university's ongoing efforts to promote a supportive and dynamic learning environment. By equipping its constituents with the skills to communicate effectively, the university hopes to enhance collaboration and mutual respect among all members, most especially its clients.
