With an unwavering pursuit of excellence, Hazel Ronlee Salazar, BSN batch 2022, emerged victorious in the recently concluded May 2023 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination (PNLE), garnering a whopping 90% board rating along with 19 other takers who remarkably tied for the 8th place in the roster of topnotchers this year.
“Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours,” Salazar wrote on her Facebook account, expressing her gratitude for her success.
Salazar’s feat in the board examination adds to the legacy of Urdaneta City University- Nursing department, showcasing the institution's commitment to nurturing exceptional nursing professionals. Since 2004, the program has produced several board topnotchers, including Micah Junabel Ventanilla (Top 4, July 2021 PNLE), Elvira Belingon (Top 2, June 2005 PNLE), Felomina Juloya (Top 7, June 2005 PNLE), Zinia Donaal (Top 8, June 2005 PNLE), and Rodney Salagubang (Top 10, June 2004 PNLE).
Meanwhile, the results, which were released on June 10, 2023, unveiled a historical accomplishment for the university as a multitude of aspiring nurses from UCU secured passing marks. A record-breaking number of 145 takers from UCU passed the board examinations, resulting in an 88.89% passing rate for first-time takers. Furthermore, UCU achieved an institutional passing rate of 75.92%, surpassing the national passing rate of 74.94%.
Additionally, UCU has successfully produced 33 registered nurses in the April 2023 Philippine Nurses Special Professional Licensure Examination (PNSPLE), bringing a 71.74% institutional performance rate which outperformed the 67.10% national passing rate. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducted the April 2023 PNSPLE in the Middle East and Singapore on April 22 and 23, 2023. The results of the examination were released on June 9, 2023.
These statistics signify the university's commitment to providing quality education and preparing its students for successful careers in nursing.
