Urdaneta City University showcased exceptional prowess and talent at the recently concluded 4th Regional Criminal Justice Student Congress, held on December 7-8, 2023.
With the them,e "Empowering Criminology Students: Advocating Drug Education and Prevention," the two-day event brought together students from various institutions for academic and non-academic competitions in Region 1.
The congress commenced at Panpacific University, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, on Day 1, and transitioned to Urdaneta City University for Day 2.
Among the highlights, UCU emerged as the Champion in the Silent Drilling Competition, showcasing precision and coordination. Additionally, the university secured the 2nd Runner-up position in the Handcuffing Techniques competition, with participants Albert Igloso, Harold Molina, and Jimuel Villanueva exhibiting exceptional skills.
In the intellectual arena, UCU students demonstrated their strength in various categories.
Jennifer Supnet secured the 1st Runner-up in Oration, while Shekinah Sudiacal claimed the 2nd Runner-up in Essay Writing. LJ Lopez's creative flair earned UCU the 1st Runner-up in the Poster Slogan.
The Martial Arts category witnessed UCU's absolute dominance, with the Female Team clinching Gold in Team Kata and the Male Team securing Gold in Team Kumite.
Individual achievements were equally impressive, with Precy Joy Carido and Franco Lauren Ambrocio securing Silver in Female and Male Individual Kata, respectively.
In the competitive Individual Kumite category, UCUians Precy Joy Carido, Arlene Abella, Shane Nicole Asuncion, and Marisol Andrada bagged several golds and a bronze in their respective weight categories.
Meanwhile, the Male Individual Kumite division saw outstanding performances from Franco Lauren Ambrocio and Lucky Taaca, earning UCU several gold and silver accolades.
With this stellar performance, Urdaneta City University cements its position as a powerhouse in criminology education, leaving an indelible mark on the regional stage.
