The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office 1 and LandBank of the Philippines (LBP) conducted an orientation and guided online ATM application for scholars on April 6, 2026 at the UCU Gymnasium.
Urdaneta City University hosted the activity, gathering CHED RO1 scholars and grantees under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) scholarships for a LandBank Caravan aimed at simplifying financial assistance processes.
The orientation highlighted a shift toward a more accessible and efficient system, allowing scholars to receive their grants through automated and paperless transactions.
Dr. Danilo B. Bose, CHED RO1 Chief Education Program Specialist, emphasized that the initiative seeks “to ensure that each grantee receives timely, secure, and efficient access to their financial assistance.”
He added, “The reason why we launched this activity, para lahat ng mga transactions ay paperless already.”
He also said, “We thank the LandBank for their partnership with us para mapadali ang inyong mga transactions.”
Atty. Dar A. Diga, Chief Operating Officer of Urdaneta City University, affirmed that the new system for the release of scholarship grants aims to provide greater convenience for the grantees.
Ms. Roanna Jamaica M. Pagaduan, Marketing Assistant of the LandBank of the Philippines, guided participants through the account enrollment process, ATM access, and the role of the account in receiving financial support.
The orientation equipped scholars with the knowledge and tools needed to manage their grants more efficiently, reducing delays and streamlining transactions.
A total of 368 student beneficiaries from Pangasinan State University–Urdaneta Campus attended the orientation alongside UCUian scholars and grantees.
The Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) provides comprehensive financial support under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, while the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) offers partial assistance to students in need.
