The Center for Community Development and Extension Services (CCDES) launched an after-care management training with the aim to raise awareness among parents of children with cognitive and behavioral problems on April 12, 2024 at Vicente Taaca Memorial School.
Ms. Lorelie Icutan-Gayo, a faculty member of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), conducted a session emphasizing the significance of effective home management practices.
She highlighted strategies to prevent excessive gadget use among children and emphasized the importance of understanding their children's needs.
Additionally, Ms. Monette Locquiao, Director of the Psychological Assessment and Counseling Center (PACC), conducted counseling sessions for parents on the proper care and education of children with special needs, enabling them to become socially, physically, and emotionally productive individuals.
Through ongoing collaboration and support, UCU is dedicated to assisting and training parents and teachers in effectively managing children with special needs, as it seeks to improve participants' understanding of children's rights, and inspire them to support their children's journey towards a brighter future.
