Urdaneta City University strengthens its pursuit of research excellence as Bachelor of Arts in Communication fourth year students presented their papers on politics social communication, and new media studies during the Communication and Media Studies Conference (CNSC) 2023 on October 20-21, 2023 held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) - Cavite campus.
Four research papers were accepted for oral presentation: (1) Communication Strategies of Urdaneta Barangay Council in Information Dissemination by Babagay and group (2) The Rise of Vlogging: A Narrative Research on the Lived Experiences of Pangasinan Vloggers by Roque and group (3) Student Journalist Challenges and Opportunities In Online Publication by Opiana and group (4) Wanna Fact: Baby Boomers Perception on Misinformation and Disinformation in Social Media by Medina and group.
Joining the said conference were Mr. Joseph S. Tullao, Research Coordinator of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and Ms. Mae S. Calizo, the Program Coordinator of the Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
Conducted by the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE), the pioneer organization of communication educators and media practitioners in the Philippines, this year's conference discourse explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the educational landscape and how it is compelling the community of scholars to re-think, re-examine, and innovate policy changes for societal development with the focus on "Communication and Media Education in the Time of AI: Values, Ethics, and Practices."
