Urdaneta City University participated in the 2026 International Spring Convergence on Gastronomic Tourism, Food Diplomacy, and Sustainability through a Webinar, reinforcing its expanding role in global academic collaboration on April 30, 2026.
Centered on the theme “Culinary Heritage and Food Innovation for a Resilient and Sustainable Future,” the event gathered experts and institutions from the United States, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Macedonia to examine how gastronomy advances sustainability, cultural preservation, and development.
UCU highlighted its commitment to internationalization and knowledge exchange in sustainable food systems. Dr. Sonny Soriano represented the university as a speaker on Sustainable Food Systems, Innovation, and Culinary Education, presenting on international collaborative learning and research in sustainable gastronomy.
The initiative was held in partnership with Tarlac Agricultural University, Palawan State University, Marinduque State University, and Quirino State University, strengthening regional and global academic cooperation.
Aligned with SDGs 2, 3, 8, 12, and 17, the engagement underscores UCU’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and transformative partnerships in higher education.
