UCU undergoes ALCUCOA orientation, aims academic transformation

Urdaneta City University underwent orientation from the Commission on Accreditation for Local Colleges and Universities (ALCUCOA), headed by Dr. Raymund P. Arcega, CESE who was also the newly-invested President of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities or ALCU Philippines, on June 5, 2024 held at the University Cafeteria.

With the theme, "Nurturing Excellence and Sustaining Transformation,” UCU aimed to further develop quality education, standards, and services, while sustaining what is already achieved, towards a deeper impact for its students.

Dr. Arcega highlighted the critical role of accreditation in fostering educational excellence and the ongoing need for institutions to adapt and evolve. The goal of accreditation is to ensure that every student receives the highest quality education, empowering them to be agents of change in society.

The orientation was designed to equip participants with practical tools and strategies for achieving and maintaining high standards. Topics covered included curriculum development, student assessment, faculty development, and best practices in accreditation. The event concluded with a commitment from all attendees to uphold the values of excellence and transformation in their educational practices.

ALCUCOA believes that by enabling quality higher education, it shapes and defines the school of tomorrow.
